Launch of joinFITE – Financial Independence Through Entrepreneurship

FPR launched joinFITE (www.joinfite.org), a new global initiative founded by Dermalogica®, in partnership with KIVA.org.  FPR’s strategic campaign reached over 8.5 million Canadians. Dermalogica® president, Jane Wurwand, personally thanked FPR for efforts in securing coverage in FLARE Magazine, an article which Wurwand felt was one of Dermalogica®’s strongest pieces of coverage in 25 years of business.

Since partnering with Over the Rainbow in 2006, FPR has positioned the store as a leading name in the Toronto fashion and lifestyle retail industry among top media, consumers and key influencers. FPR organizes ten events annually for OTR to engage with customers and build their database, in addition to devising innovative and successful public relations campaigns.

35th Anniversary Event

FPR planned and executed top denim retailer Over the Rainbow’s 35th anniversary celebration, resulting in over 40 top-tier media placements and a readership totalling more than 35 million.

  • FPR hosted a two-day event for top media and consumers at an OTR branded birthday party, including a media preview, street party and logo design contest
  • FPR assisted in forming a partnership with Autism Speaks Canada on behalf of OTR which has resulted in an ongoing relationship
  • Consumers and media were given the opportunity to shop, enter a contest, and meet owner Joel Carmen and his team

THOMAS SABO

FPR has partnered with global jewelry brand Thomas Sabo since its Canadian launch in 2009. During this period, FPR has garnered nearly 1 billion impressions for the brand in Canada alone. FPR’s efforts have increased exposure for the Thomas Sabo brand by successfully launching several flagship store openings across the country and USA.

International Press Junkets – Berlin, Las Vegas, London, Munich

Hosting press junkets, media previews and collection launches across Canada and internationally, FPR successfully continues to build brand awareness for the Thomas Sabo brand in the North American market.

  • FPR successfully managed international press junkets in London, Munich, Berlin, and Las Vegas, resulting in invaluable media experiences, global brand awareness and key editorial coverage
  • FPR worked with pop star, Katy Perry at the Munich press junket to leverage her partnership with Thomas Sabo as the global ambassador for the brand

INTERIOR DESIGN SHOW

FPR has worked with The Interior Design Show, Canada’s largest contemporary design fair since 2007. FPR manages all public relations, including media relations and accreditation, hosting the media lounge, publicizing the opening night party, coordinating VIP itineraries and interviews, and managing exhibitor relations.  FPR received acclaim from IDS11 keynote speakers Douglas Coupland, Michael Young, Jean-Marie Massaud, and Allegra Hicks for their dedicated work.

IDS11 – Behind-the-scenes blogger event

FPR tapped into a valuable social media resource while promoting IDS11 by hosting a “sneak peek hard hat tour” for bloggers and key tweeters that had the viral world buzzing. IDS11 experienced a 10% increase in attendance and 659 media hits in five different languages.

  • FPR invited 30 of Toronto’s leading design bloggers and Twitter influencers to a sneak peek tour of the IDS showroom floor during installation
  • Amidst cranes and work crews, ‘online editors’ sipped hot coco from branded IDS mugs and wore personalized hard hats as they experienced exclusive show secrets from IDS Director, Shauna Levy
  • Bloggers got up close and personal with several of the show’s celebrity designers, including Sarah & Theo Richardson and the Brothers Dressler
  • Highlights of the event included a live tweet play-by-play on Toronto Star’s yourhome.ca and over 100 tweets

TORONTO FASHION INCUBATOR

FPR has worked with the highly respected Toronto Fashion Incubator since 2001, championing the non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and nurturing small business entrepreneurs in the fashion industry.

New Labels® Design Competition & Show 2011

In April 2011, FPR managed TFI’s New Label event, which hosted 285 guests, including 44 specially selected members of the media, resulting in over 63 pieces of print and online coverage. The FPR team created media communication materials that were deployed both pre- and post event and handled all onsite media relations. 

  • FPR worked to secure pre-event coverage in an effort to gain awareness and increase ticket sales, garnering 40 hits prior to the event date
  • FPR managed all media RSVPs and requests as well as check-in and pre-show interviews
  • FPR managed all media logistics, including runway pit, ensuring priority cameras were allocated to premium positions
  • FPR liaised with media who attended the event and fielded post event inquiries, garnering 23 post event hits

TORONTO’S LG FASHION WEEK

FPR has been working with fashion designers since its inception 10 years ago. From media kit preparation, invitation distribution, RSVP seating plans, and developing corporate sponsorships in pre-production, to fielding media interviews, coordinating backstage logistics during the show, and to following up with key media post-show, FPR continues to be a fixture in the Toronto fashion industry.  FPR has worked with a range of talented designers, aiding to showcase some of Canada’s greatest design talents, including Joeffer Caoc, Lauren Bagliore, Evan and Dean, and VAWK by Sunny Fong.

VAWK Autumn/Winter 2011 LGFW

For the Autumn/Winter 2011 VAWK collection, VAWK boldly took on the tents, participating at LGFW for the first time since designer Sunny Fong first displayed his talents there with his winning Project Runway show.  On Thursday March 31st, 2011, VAWK and FPR packed the house, filling 1,000+ seats with media, buyers, VIPs, representatives and friends.

  • Onsite, FPR managed interviews and media relations resulting in valuable, national television spots, print hits and a storm of positive online coverage
  • FPR worked diligently leading up to the event to secure select strategic pre-show interviews
  • FPR managed post show interviews for designer Sunny Fong
  • FPR fielded sample requests for VAWK as a result of the LGFW show, which has continued to bring press wins for VAWK

LCBO CLASSIC COCKTAILS

In February 2011, FPR worked with the LCBO team to promote the LCBO’s Classic Cocktail event to Canadian lifestyle, food, and fashion media, for the purpose of generating excitement and exposure for LCBO’s Classic Cocktails.

  • FPR coordinated with the LCBO team to arrange for 100 tickets (50 pairs) to be given out to the public via online blogs, Twitter + broadcasting opportunities
  • FPR also managed all RSVPs and secured 241 media, influencers, contest winners, and suppliers to attend February 3rd, 2011 event at The Carlu in downtown Toronto
  • FPR managed VIP guest, Emmy-award winning Mad Men costume designer, Janie Bryant at the event and coordinated all media interviews
  • FPR garnered over 50 pieces of coverage pre- and post event, and an exciting list of expected coverage from long lead media

PROJECT RUNWAY CANADA SEASON 2

As the unit publicity team for Project Runway Canada, FPR worked to optimize pre- and post-production media coverage. To ensure viewership targets were met, FPR secured over 1000 media hits in publications such as The National Post, Ottawa Citizen, Enroute, Metro, Sweetspot, Entertainment Tonight Canada and E! News Weekends.

  • FPR managed the front of house finale taping live at LG Fashion Week, hosting over 800 guests
  • FPR managed an exclusive media tour
  • FPR worked with production staff to assist at VIP management of international celebrities, Iman and Coco Rocha
  • FPR executed all Project Runway Canada media requests and episodic interviews with talent and arranged post-runway interviews
